Vetiver Essential Oil

vetiver plant

Description

Vetiver oil is distilled from the roots of the vetiver grass which has long been used to prevent soil erosion due to it’s impressive root system. Vetiver essential oil has long been used as a fixative in the perfume industry.  It has an aroma that is very earthy, sweet, and woody. (You can learn more about the Vetiver Plant Here)

The plant is harvested for it’s roots which are stream distilled for the oil.  This oil is very viscous (thick like honey) although it does thin out when mixed with other oil and can actually be added to almost any blend.

dōTERRA Vetiver has a unique, exotic aroma that’s sweet, woody, caramel, and smoky making it ideal for calming emotions and focusing your thoughts.  These properties make Vetiver Oil ideal for use in massage therapy.  It can also be rubbed on the feet before bedtime to promote a restful night’s sleep. When taken internally, Vetiver can support a healthy immune system.*

  • Add 1–2 drops to tea or hot drinks during winter time to promote immune-supporting properties*.

  • Diffuse with Lavender, doTERRA Serenity®, or doTERRA Balance® to calm emotions and lessen stress.
  • Use a toothpick to help get the desired amount out of container if Vetiver is too thick to get out of the bottle. A little goes a long way.
