Daily Supplements?

I was never a supplement or vitamin taker.  There are just so many options out there and it was confusing to understand which one would be the best.  And if I did try something and it didn’t work or I didn’t feel or see a noticeable difference, then it was shelved or flushed and never thought of  again.

It was a challenge to give yet another supplement a try after, what I hate to admit, so many failed choices and attempts to take a daily vitamin.   It is almost as if my ego was preventing from making yet another error in judgement wasting more money.

Anybody in the scientific community who seriously studies vitamin and mineral nutrition agrees that virtually everyone’s nutrition falls short in meeting even the bare minimum requirements for many nutrients (known as the RDI—Recommended Dietary Intakes). Trying to get the RDIs of all 26 essential vitamins, minerals, and trace elements (micronutrients) from foods alone is next to impossible, even if you eat a wholesome, balanced diet.

Fruits and vegetables are rich in these micronutrients, plus they contain important phytonutrients (carotenoids, polyphenols, essential oils, etc.). The problem is that hardly anyone eats enough fruits and vegetables.

A recent analysis of WHO/FAO data (Murphy et al., Br J Nutr 112(6):1004, 2014) shows that this is a world-wide problem: three out of four people on this planet don’t even meet the minimum recommended five daily servings of fruits and vegetables! Instead, modern diets are high in refined foods and beverages devoid of micronutrients and full of empty calories.

In the U.S., nine out of ten adults do not meet the RDIs for vitamins D and E, and over half of us don’t meet the RDIs for vitamin A, calcium, and magnesium (Fulgoni, et al., J Nutr 141(10):1847- 54, 2011).  Even if you are vegan or vegetarian, you’re unlikely to get enough vitamin D, B12, calcium, iron, and zinc.  Long-term, these nutrient deficiencies cause lack of energy, poor immunity, weak bones, cognitive decline, and a host of other health problems.

Experts agree that you should try to eat a healthy diet high in fruits and vegetables and take a multivitamin/mineral supplement. Now, the real question is which supplement should you take and how should it be formulated? Are the RDI amounts even sufficient? We know today that for most micronutrients they are not, and that optimum intakes are often higher than the RDIs. But how much higher? And what happens if we get too much? “What is the best way to get started?”
I always recommend either the Wholesale Membership OR a specific kit, but message me and I’ll be happy to advise based on your needs and desires.

“I want to start slow – what do you recommend?”
Simply sign up as a Wholesale Member ($35), order a diffuser and a few oils and
you’re good to go!  You can order once a month, every couple of months, or whenever you like.  The Wholesale membership is like Costco or Sam’s Club, you shop when you want and get great deals and have access to membership benefits.

“Do I have to start a business if I become a Wholesale Member?”
When you sign up, make sure you choose the WHOLESALE PRICES option. This option does NOT mean you are taking this on as a business. Instead, choosing this option will give you a bigger discount PLUS the option to take advantage of other promotions and discounts such as the Product of the Month (a reward benefit from the membership program).

“I have a number of specific health conditions, what do you recommend?”

“What if I take the vitamins and I don’t like them or they don’t work for me?”      Well this is one of my favorite questions, because the return policy is so strong!  Your order account and membership is direct with doTERRA, yes you will be a part of our community and I will be here to help you, but your guarantee and quality is direct from doTERRA!  You will not be disappointed.  Should you have any problems at all, you will be pleased to work with the customer service department which will process your return and make certain you are satisfied even if you opened and used the product. (credits of 100% of product credit or 90% return to your form of payment for qualified returns)
